DASHCAM FITTING INFORMATION
You will need all the necessary cables and mounts, including a power cable or hardwire kit (usually required for parking mode) and front to rear cable if a rear camera is being fitted. Failure to provide the equipment may result in the job being cancelled and a cancellation fee applied. Whilst we are very happy to install it, we cannot advise you on equipment that you bought elsewhere.
If you don’t have a dashcam hardwire kit, we can often supply an adaptor to convert the cigarette lighter style plug on the power cable into cable which can be used for a hardwire install. Parking mode might not be available in this case. If your dashcam has a parking mode feature, this might not work unless you have the correct, specific hardwire kit for your dash cam. Please check with the dash cam manufacturer if unsure.
Our experienced installers will be happy to fit your own dash cams that you bought elsewhere, but please be aware that some equipment might not be to UK spec and/or could cause interference to your DAB radio, resulting in loss of signal in some areas. Our installers will try to reduce or remove this interference, but we cannot guarantee the results or be responsible for the loss of signal.
Our installers are experienced in fitting all types of dashcams, but cannot be expected to have read all of the user manuals. For the use of your dashcam, including connection to your mobile, please refer to your user manual. Price quoted is for the installation only. The installer's completion test is that the camera turns on and off as expected with the ignition and/or 12V.
PLEASE NOTE: When deinstalling dash cams that weren't originally fitted by Cygnal, we cannot be held responsible for any damage caused due to incorrect materials used during the camera installation (i.e. bonding glue, aged adhesive pads or faulty wiring).
